Background

In January 2002, we were appointed by the Department for Transport as a provider for the Drink Drive Rehabilitation Scheme.

Statistics collated by the Department for Transport show that participants who have completed the course are 2-3 times less likely to re-offend as drivers become more aware of alcohol related issues

Drink Drive Limits

There’s no safe limit

Legally, the alcohol limit for drinking and driving is 80mg in 100ml of blood. However this cannot be translated easily into number of drinks – how quickly you reach the limit depends on a range of factors such as:

  • Your weight, sex, age and metabolism;
  • Whether you've had anything to eat; and
  • The amount and type of alcohol you drink.

Even a small amount of alcohol will affect your reactions and judgement, making you more likely to be involved in an accident. The only safe option is not to drink at all if you’re driving.

You can't calculate your alcohol units accurately.

Drink - then Don't Drive!!
